Reimagining Visual Arts & Design Education

I am an artist and art educator who believes that creativity is for everyone—not just the people who think they’re “good at art.” My work, both in and out of the classroom, is rooted in curiosity, patience, and the idea that every person brings a unique perspective worth exploring.

As a teacher, I try to create a space where students feel seen, respected, and comfortable taking risks. I think a lot about what it means to step into someone else’s shoes, and I carry that mindset into how I teach, communicate, and build relationships. At the core of my practice is a simple belief: treat others the way you want to be treated. It sounds basic, but it shapes everything—from how I give feedback to how I design learning experiences.

As an artist, I’m drawn to ideas that feel personal, a little unexpected, and honest. I’m less interested in perfection and more interested in process—what we notice, what we overlook, and how we make meaning out of both.

Whether I’m teaching or creating, my goal is the same: to make space for people to slow down, look closer, and realize their voice matters.
